Fahrenheit by Dior
Launched in 1988, Fahrenheit by Dior was created by Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Maurice Roger. It was created to go against the traditional men's fragrances at the time, aiming to create a scent that evokes contrasts like the blending of warm and cool and natural and synthetic.
The top notes are lavender, mandarin, hawthorn, nutmeg flower, cedar, bergamot, chamomile, and lemon, establishing a fresh and fruity start. The heart notes are nutmeg, honeysuckle, carnation, sandalwood, violet leaf, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, and cedar, adding a floral and slightly spicy touch. The base notes are leather, tonka bean, amber, patchouli, musk, and vetiver, giving a rich, woody depth with a smoky finish.
Fahrenheit is famous for its combination of floral, woody, and leathery notes, which was groundbreaking at the time. By blending fresh and floral elements, it went against norms. Additionally, its scent is easily recognizable, maintaining a strong fanbase until today. Fahrenheit remains an iconic cologne.
