Terre d'Hermès

Terre d’Hermès, created by Jean-Calude Ellena, was launched in 2006. The cologne intends to evoke the scent of soil, wood, minerals, and the freshness of citrus, capturing the beauty of nature. It also symbolizes the connection between man and nature: Jean-Claude Ellena described the cologne as “a dialogue between man and earth.”

As the cologne focuses on nature, it has multiple earthy elements. The top notes are orange and grapefruit, giving a fresh opening. The heart note is flint, which adds a smoky and earthy dimension to the scent. The base notes are wood, benzoin, vetiver, and oakmoss, embodying the earthy base.

Terre d’Hermès’ scent is suitable for various occasions and seasons, contributing to its long-lasting appeal. Adding on, its simplicity and purity make it appealing for many people, especially men who appreciates nature. Jean-Claude Ellena’s minimalist approach makes the cologne iconic to this day.
