Annick Goutal

Annick Goutal had an interesting career history. She was originally a pianist who won numerous awards. Then she became a model. While modeling in Grasse, France, she discovered her true passion: perfumery. The releases of Eau d’Hadrien and Passion brought breakout success. Eau d’Hadrien, in particular, became iconic for its citrus notes inspired by the Italian countryside.

Her fragrances often drew inspiration from memories, emotions, and nature, storytelling rather than only delivering a scent. Additionally, her fragrances went against the predominant trend at the time as they smelled delicate and fresh rather than overpowering. Even after entering the world of perfumery, her love for music never vanished. Her experiences in music helped to create a unique approach to fragrances, blending her love for music and nature.

Even after Annick Goutal’s death in 1999, her influence continues in the world through Goutal Paris, which rebranded as Annick Goutal in 2018. The brand is under Camille Goutal, Annick’s daughter, and perfumer Isabelle Doyen. It’s known for its high-quality, emotion-driven fragrances. Rose pompon and Nuit et Confidences are recent popular releases from this brand.
