CK One by Calvin Klein

CK One, created by Alberto Morillas and Harry Fremont, was launched in 1994. The fragrance embodies the brand’s simplicity and modern approach to fashion.

CK One was one of the first fragrances to appeal to the market as unisex, breaking the traditional gender boundaries in perfumery. The fragrance was appealing to both genders through its clean, fresh scent, which represented the individuality and freedom of expression of the youth culture at the time. Additionally, its transparent bottle and minimalist packaging influenced the rise of the minimalist aesthetic.

CK One was reported to have sold 15 million bottles within its first three years of release. By the late 1990s, it became one of the top-selling fragrances in the world. Even today, it remains as one of the best-selling fragrances for Calvin Klein.

The top notes consist of pineapple, mandarin orange, papaya, bergamot, and lemon, giving it a bright, fresh scent. Then, the heart notes include a mixture of jasmine, violet, rose, nutmeg, and green tea. The base notes feature musk, amber, cedar, and sandalwood, providing a warm and lingering finish.

Due to its popularity, there have been multiple flankers released since its original launch in 1994. For example, the CK One Summer Series began from 2004. The most recent flanker included in this series is CK One Summer 2021. CK One has had a long-lasting impact on the perfume industry.
