L'AIR DU TEMPS
L’Air du Temps is a fragrance released under Nina Ricci, a Parisian fashion house established by Maria Nina Ricci, in 1948. Francis Fabron, a master perfumer, created this scent.
L’Air du Temps was released after World War II, when the world was yearning for peace and renewal. The fragrance embodied this sentiment with its light, floral scent. Even the name, which translates into “The Air of Time,” reflects the sentiment of the era. Marc Lalique, the son of the famous glassmaker René Lalique, created the bottle design. The bottle features two intertwining doves on the cap, symbolizing peace.
When first spraying the fragrance, you smell a combination of bergamot, peach, rosewood, and neroli, which gives a bright and fresh scent. Then, you smell a floral bouquet that features carnation, gardenia, jasmine, rose, violet, and orchid. The carnation note adds the spicy floral character to the fragrance. Last, the combination of sandalwood, cedarwood, amber, musk, and iris finishes the scent off with a warm and powdery feeling.
L’Air du Temps has sold millions of bottles since its release and continues to be a popular choice among the people who seek for a classic, feminine scent.
