Edouard Fléchier

Edouard Fléchier’s talent in perfumery was found early in his life. When he trained at Roure (Givaudan’s Perfumery School), he discovered his exceptional olfactory abilities, described as a “hypersensitive nose.” His talent was truly shown through the breakout success of Dior’s Posion, establishing his status as a respectable perfumer.

He’s known for balancing precision and creativity. He often uses high-quality raw materials, creating bold and sophisticated fragrances. The unexpected twists he adds in his fragrances make them stand out in the market. Even though he’s one of the most well-known perfumers, he continues to maintain and even improve his skills. For example, he still starts his day by smelling raw materials.

Before his retirement, Lys Mediterranee and Une Rose were his last successes. The last fragrance he created was Rose Tonnerre, marking the end of his career. He still remains iconic in perfumery with the amazing talent he had. Even Frédéric Malle, an influential perfume editor, once praised his ability, saying “Edouard does not smell, he sees.”
