François Demachy
Modern perfumery began in Grasse, France, during the 18th century. François Demachy gained his interest in perfumery when growing up in Grasse.
Similar to other famous perfumers, he studied at the Roure School of Perfumery. His release of Fahrenheit by Dior established his reputation as an innovative perfumer due to its unique blend of leather, violet, and mandarin.
He’s known for his strong emphasis on high-quality, natural ingredients. He can create a wide range of fragrances with timeless elegance and sophistication. Other than perfumery, he has interest in art and music.
Dior Sauvage Elixir and Miss Dior 2021 were recent major successes by him. While Dior Sauvage Elixir features notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and sandalwood, Miss Dior 2021 features floral notes like iris, peony, and lily of the valley. He continues his career as a perfumer in Dior and mentors young perfumers.
