Jacques Cavallier

Jacques Cavallier is a master perfumer, most notably known for his work with Louis Vuitton. He was born in a family with a rich perfumery legacy, which heavily influenced him. Born in Grasse, France, he trained under his father. The creation of Issey Miyake’s L’eau d’Issey became a breakout success, revolutionizing the fragrance industry by being the first to use the synthetic material Calone, which smells like a fresh sea breeze.

Cavallier is known for balancing notes to create luxurious and approachable fragrances. He often blends fresh, floral, and woody notes. Additionally, he focuses on the emotional impact a fragrance can leave. Beyond perfumery, he’s passionate about art and nature. As a result, he often spends his leisure time in his large garden. His connection to nature is often reflected in his work, evoking emotions that resonate with nature.

After becoming the in-house perfumer for Louis Vuitton, he has created multiple iconic fragrances: Rose Des Vents, Matière Noire, and Ombre Nomade. He continues to work with Louis Vuitton, expanding their exclusive line of fragrances.
