My Visit at Add U
Although each perfume has its own charm, different perfumes work for different occasions. For me, I got the chance to create my own perfume in Korea in a place called Add U. I planned to create a floral type of perfume to wear when hanging out with my friends in a nice place.
I first chose the type of flower I wanted to focus on when creating my perfume. There are four main types of flowers: rose, jasmine, muguet, and lilac. I chose muguet as my type of flower because it is light and clean out of the four. I didn’t want a strong scent, so it suited what I wanted. After choosing muguet, I had to choose the other middle notes that would define the main image of my perfume. I added gardenia and magnolia. Gardenia is a fresh and sweet flower scent, while magnolia is a more light and clean scent. After adding in gardenia and magnolia, it helped make my flower seem as if there were stems added now.
For my last note, I chose rosewood. Although it is a strong scent that reminded me of a medicine that I would rub on my irritated skin, I added in a little amount. It made my perfume seem more mature. Lastly, for my top note, I chose fig. Fig has a sweet scent that isn’t too heavy.
When mixing all the scents together, I was nervous to smell the final scent. After mixing it well together, I bought the bottle close to my nose and smelled it. It was the type of scent I wanted. It wasn’t too heavy or strong, but it still had a floral scent.
The one on the left is the one I created, while the one on the right is the one my dad created.
Even though I love my perfume, I wouldn’t wear it all the time like going to school because it doesn’t fit the environment. Some perfumes are better for certain places than others.
